Bronze sculpture created in 1989 after the terrible acts of violence became known, approx. 15kg, length 59cm, height 29cm, depth 14cm.
"A muscular arm holds a pistol in its hand" (known in Germany through the monumental peace sculpture near Torgau, at the place where Russians and Americans first met in 1945).
I was in Moscow in 1991 and met the artist. There I chose this sculpture in his studio.
In January 1992, Tatjana Tolstaia brought this sculpture
on a flight from Moscow to Cologne.
While many people in Russia were often starving at the time, she appeared on the catwalk like a French model.
As the great-granddaughter of a famous man and Russian television star, this was also possible 30 years ago.
